Whole-Home Protection

Gutters Are the First Line of Defense for Your Roof, Siding, and Foundation

Every inch of rain or snowmelt that hits your roof has to go somewhere. Without a properly functioning gutter system, that water cascades straight off the eave — eroding landscaping, saturating soil against your foundation, and soaking the fascia and soffit boards that protect the edge of your roof deck.

Utah County homes face a particularly demanding combination: intense spring thunderstorms, heavy Wasatch snowmelt, and summer monsoon pulses from the south. An undersized or clogged gutter system simply can't keep up — and the damage accumulates quietly until it becomes expensive.

Rhino Roofing and Exteriors has served Utah County homeowners since 2014. We size every seamless gutter system to your specific roof area and pitch, then match it with the right downspout capacity and discharge strategy so water stays away from your home entirely.

Built for Utah Conditions

Utah Storms and Snowmelt Demand More From Your Gutters

Utah County sits at the foot of the Wasatch, where spring snowmelt, afternoon thunderstorms, and occasional monsoon pulses can dump more water on a roof in an hour than the rest of the week combined. Standard-profile gutters sized for mild climates often can't handle that peak flow — leading to overflow that hammers landscaping, pools against the foundation, and forces its way into the wall cavity.

We size gutters to your roof's actual drainage area and maximum expected flow rate — not a generic calculation. Oversized K-style or half-round profiles are available where the roofline demands them. We also position downspouts to discharge at least six feet from the foundation and can add underground extensions where grade doesn't cooperate.

High-Flow Capacity

Oversized profiles available for roofs with large drainage areas or steep pitches.

Foundation Safety

Downspout discharge positioned to carry water well clear of your foundation perimeter.

Gutter Guards Keep the System Running Year-Round

Utah County's mature trees — cottonwoods, aspens, and pines — drop seeds, needles, and leaves that clog gutters fast. A clogged gutter holds standing water and debris, accelerating corrosion and putting hundreds of pounds of extra load on the hangers.

Micro-mesh gutter guards filter out debris while maintaining full water intake — dramatically reducing the number of times you need to climb a ladder each year. We'll recommend the right guard system for your specific tree situation and roofline.

Gutters work best when the whole exterior is in good shape. Damaged soffit, fascia, or siding can compromise gutter attachment and lead to hidden moisture problems. Ask us about our full exteriors services — siding, soffit, and fascia repairs alongside your gutter work.

Common Questions

Gutter FAQs

Why are seamless gutters better than sectional gutters?
Sectional gutters join at multiple points along the roofline, and every joint is a potential leak site. Seamless gutters are roll-formed in one continuous piece to the exact length of your eave, so there are no mid-run seams — only end caps and downspout outlets are joined. That means dramatically fewer leaks, less debris accumulation at joints, and better long-term performance in Utah's freeze-thaw cycles.
How do Utah storms and snowmelt affect gutters?
Utah County experiences intense spring thunderstorms, occasional monsoon moisture from the south, and significant snowmelt from the Wasatch. An undersized or clogged gutter system can't handle these sudden high-volume flows. Water backs up under shingles, saturates fascia boards, pools against the foundation, and can cause interior water damage. Properly sized seamless gutters with adequate downspout capacity prevent all of these problems.
How often should gutters be cleaned in Utah County?
Most Utah County homes need gutters cleaned twice a year — once in late spring after cottonwood seeds have fallen, and once in late autumn after leaves drop. Homes near mature trees may need cleaning three to four times annually. Gutter guards can dramatically reduce cleaning frequency, though an annual inspection is still recommended.
Can gutter problems damage my roof or siding?
Yes. Overflowing gutters are one of the most common causes of fascia and soffit rot. When water can't drain, it sits against the wood trim at your roofline, breaking down the material over months and creating an entry point for moisture into the roof deck. Overfull gutters can also pull away from the fascia under their own weight, damaging the attachment points. If you're seeing signs of exterior damage, explore our siding and exteriors services or roof repairs and inspections.
Do you offer financing for gutter installations?
Yes. Gutter and exterior work can be financed through Hearth, our financing partner. Check your rate at no impact to your credit score. Call us at (801) 529-2054 or visit our financing page to learn more.
